چکیده

Trust management is becoming crucial in open systems because they may contain malicious and untrustworthy service providers. Trust management in multi-agent systems (used to model open systems) has gained a huge amount of attention from researchers in recent years. In our previous work, we proposed a generic agent trust management framework, called ScubAA, which is based on the theory of Human Plausible Reasoning. ScubAA first recommends to the trustor (e.g. a user) a personalized ranked list of the most trusted trustees (e.g. service providers), within the context of the trustor's request, and then forwards the request to those trusted trustees only. In this article, we are particularly interested in comparing, from a theoretical perspective, ScubAA with four other trust management systems that we selected from the vast literature on trust management. This comparison highlights significant factors that agent trust management systems utilize in their trust evaluation process. It also shows that ScubAA is able to consider more trust evidences towards a more accurate value of trust. Indeed, ScubAA introduces a single unified framework that considers various important aspects of trust management, such as the trustor’s feedback, history of trustor’s interactions, context of the trustor's request, third-party references from trustors as well as from trustees, and the structure of the society of trustor and trusteeagents. Reasoning about Trust Using Argumentation: A Position Paper

Trust is a mechanism for managing the uncertainty about autonomous entities and the information they store, and so can play an important role in any decentralized system. As a result, trust has been widely studied in multiagent systems and related fields such as the semantic web. Managing information about trust involves inference with uncertain information, decision making, and dealing with co...

Co-design of Dynamic Real-time Scheduling and Cooperative Control for Human-agent Collaboration Systems Based on Mutual Trust

Mutual trust is a key factor in human-human collaboration. Inspired by this social interaction, we analyze human-agent mutual trust in the collaboration of one human and (semi)autonomous multi-agent systems. In the thesis, we derive time-series human-agent mutual trust models based on results from human factors engineering. To avoid both overtrust and under-trust, we set up dynamic timing model...

A Simple Logical Approach to Reasoning with and about Trust

Identifying overlapping communities using multi-agent collective intelligence

The proposed algorithm in this research is based on the multi-agent particle swarm optimization as a collective intelligence due to the connection between several simple components which enables them to regulate their behavior and relationships with the rest of the group according to certain rules. As a result, self-organizing in collective activities can be seen. Community structure is crucial...

On Identifying and Managing Relationships in Multi-Agent Systems

Multi-agent systems result from interactions between individual agents. Through these interactions different kinds of relationships are formed, which can impact substantially on the overall system performance. However, the behaviour of agents cannot always be anticipated, especially when dealing with open and complex systems. Open agent systems must incorporate relationship management mechanism...
